Planning, Implementation, and Assessment with IMPACT!

This interactive institute will focus on effective strategies to implement proficiency-focused performance-based units and lessons that align with the TEKS for LOTE. Institute goals focus on strategies and guidelines for developing formative and summative assessments that provide evidence of learner progress in using language in real world contexts.  Embedded facilitated application sessions will provide opportunities for small group collaboration and feedback.  Come with a team from your school or district and join other teams as you improve your own instructional proficiency!

Experienced educator Greta Lundgaard taught German, Biology, and English before leaving the classroom to become the LOTE Coordinator at Lewisville ISD and Plano ISD. Greta was instrumental in pushing through pathways for certification for Texas teachers of Chinese, Vietnamese, and Japanese in 2007 and participated in the development of the 2014 TEKS for LOTE, serving on the Level 1-4 TEKS Committee. She was the 2016 recipient of the ACTFL Florence Steiner Award for Leadership in Foreign Language Education and was named the NADSFL Supervisor of the Year in 2014. Greta works nationally and internationally with world language educators in all educational settings.
